DONE DONE DONE

Finally finished the first draft of “A New Embassy” I still need to go over it before I even send it to the editor, let alone betas, but the first draft is DONE. Clocks in at roughly 80k words, and I’ve never needed 16 months to finish a draft before.

Relief!

This is an Empire of Humanity story – the Empire sends an embassy to a new species. The viewpoint character is an Earth human from the north of England, with issues of her own. It’s a novelization of a previously finished short story. The starting idea was a Thomas Sowell quote: “What else is history but how governments have wasted the blood and treasure of the human race?”
