I am sorry that the novel version of A New Embassy is taking forever. Day job has been eating seventy hours plus, every week. It’s approaching 60,000 words now; I think it will be finished at 80.
When that is done, the plan is to write the third Gates to Faerie novel. The plan is discovery of who the previous owner of the property was, meaning there are some interesting things going on with the property. Meanwhile the enemy they thought vanquished in Gifts of the Mother is making trouble. Tentative title: The Keeper’s Legacy
Subject to change, the novel after that will be set in the Empire, with Urona, Anana and Parnit’s daughter, as the viewpoint character. The concept is as a refutation of the nonsense Disney promulgated in Brave. Title at this point is simply ‘Urona.’ I’m also developing an Ilras story, as Grace’s middle son is a delightfully vicious-but-sane character, so it is possible that will take over or dovetail together. Title is indefinite, although ‘Maliciously Civilized’ might get the nod.
I know I said I’d never do another story with Alexan as the viewpoint character; but that doesn’t mean I can’t do one with Catharin and Ansharos and King Edvard’s children, most likely from the perception of Prince Edvard. Tentatively titled ‘Princes Of Treemount’
